What is nutrition? Nutrients provide energy and the building blocks for growth and maintenance of a healthy body.
What is a protein? Proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals are all nutrients. Their relative food sources and use in the body were all discussed. The idea of using 'colour' to guide nutritional balance in meals was explored.
What do I need to eat to be sure of a healthy diet? A well balanced, vegetarian diet containing liberal portions of fruit and vegetables will provide all the nutrients that most people will need.
